I've seen a couple of recipes recently referring to these and don't know what they are. Can anyone enlighten me please?

What kind of dishes???

I'd say you'd want to look at the meatier sausages if you are looking to follow a recipe

in general I'd say italian sausages are more chunky/meatier, and can be more adventurously flavoured....fennel seeds/rosemary and the like

Something like this www.abc.net.au/local/stories/2008/04/11/2214252.htm i.e. Bill Granger's Giovanni's sausages with rosemary roasted potatoes.

Yup, I'd be thinking fennel seeds too.

OK great, thanks. Will look to for those. I love fennel so sounds delicious.

Sainsburys do a Sicilian style sausage and a wild boar sausage, both sound good, is it for a pasta dish?

Celeriacacaca · 01/06/2015 07:49

Yes, it is. Thanks all.

Italian sausages don't have cereal in, it's basically the chopped meat, fat and spices. And the skins are still intestines and what not.

Do NOT ever tell dp and his family Grin but British bangers are far far nicer and you know you aren't going to get that hitting-the-lump-of-gristle moment.

I'd go for an Italian-style sausage for your recipe or just one flavoured with fennel to give the same result. Or a nice British sausage with a handful of fennel seeds in the sauce.
