Onion, tomatoes, lentils and what?

I've fried off some onion, added a tin of tomatoes and a tin of green pay lentils that have been lurking in the cupboard.
It tastes bland so far. What shall I add?

What a coincidence! I'm making the same (in the pressure cooker) with soaked dried green lentils. When it's nice and soft I'm going to bake some spicy sausages and have a fresh green salad with rocket and grated carrots. Nothing bland about that!
