Curry sauce in a jar

Can anyone recommend a good make please? I have no kitchen, it's being remodelled. So I have a slow cooker, a rice cooker, a microwave and a sandwich toaster to last us for the next 8 weeks!
We bbq when the weather is ok, hailstones today.
Fancy a curry and need a jar of sauce to fling in the slow cooker with some chicken.
Give me your recommendations please Smile

I buy the Lloyd Grossman ones when they are on offer. They don't have loads of sugar, but have plenty of peppers etc.

The supermarket own brand ones are noticeably sweeter.

I second the Lloyd grossman ones. Tesco finest ones are also very nice.

Brilliant, thank you. Don't like sweet curries so I'll buy a couple of jars tomorrow.

A bit more variety in our tedious diet!

Anilas are the simply best ive ever had. but you probably will have to order for delivery unless you are lucky enough to be near one of the shops that sell them..

Their chutneys and pickles are also fab.. we use to be able to get them at the local market where we lived before , and when we moved i got serious withdrawal .. so now i order them by the dozen!

Pataks - they don't use many (any?) artificial floors or preservatives and taste proper.

Tesco finest are good, it's my go to curry in a jar.

chocolatelife · 19/05/2015 18:34

despite the name uncle ben's tikka massalla is the best imo

chocolatelife · 19/05/2015 18:34

and pataks of course if they are on offer, makes them taste even better Grin

I like the sharwoods madras quite spicy though I always add chicken, butternut squash and either chick or normal peas and generally a bag of spinach to up the veg a bit.

I like the Val and Vinny sauces

I keep an M&S one in the cupboard for emergency easy meal use. They're always better than I expect them to be (& make me wonder why I usually go to the trouble of cooking from scratch) but have never tried any regular brands so cannot compare.

I'm Indian and so many of my mother's Indian friends (including my mother) use Patak's pastes and sauces when feeling lazy :)
