Why is there a horrible aftertaste from my homemade mayonaise?

All the ingredients tasted fine beforehand.( Well, I didn't taste the egg yolk but they were fresh!) Could it be because I made it in a metal bowl?

hmmm...what oil did you use? I first made it with all olive oil and the taste was too strong - now make it with mainly veg oil and a little olive oil. I should think the metal bowl could have had something to do with it too

agree with Queenmummy. I now use a mixture of olive oil and sunflower oil. If egg smelled fine beforehand, its probably not the cause of the problem.

I used all olive oil. I did make it before with grapeseed oil and it was fine, so maybe that's it.
