Can I freeze mackerel / kipper pate?

i ordered far too much mackerel and too many kippers this week. After kippers for supper, kippers and scrambled eggs for breakfast, mackereau a la moutarde for supper, I have cooked and deboned the rest and thought of doing a bog standard mackerel pate, ie whizzing up cream cheese, paprika and fish to use it up.

Cam I freeze it? Or should I freeze the fish and use it when I want it? I doubt it was frozen before I bought it, though I can't swear to that. Anyway it has been cooked thoroughly now.

Could do either.

Line a ramekin with cling film, fill with paté and freeze, and then the frozen paté will turn out easily.

Yes, I freeze it.

I freeze the whole fish. Also I make fishcakes and then freeze them uncooked.

That's brilliant, thank you.
