Will this work? (beef stroganoff)

Have a really busy day and could do without popping to the shops too. I have a jar of stroganoff sauce in the cupboard and the only beef I can find in the freezer is a packet of morrisons diced beef. I would usually use this in a casserole. If I slice it even thinner will it be ok if I fry for 3 mins or so or be like a piece of old leather?

Old leather, I reckon. Do you have chicken or pork in the freezer? I'd use another meat.
