Best easy shortbread recipe?

i've always wanted to make shortbread. Not just the round biscuits, but long strips v slightly squidgy in the middle, and petticoat tails.

Recipes, please, dear experts?

Dan Lepard has a fab recipe for shortbread, very short (crumbly). Have had lots of compliments when I've made it. Think you'd need a mould for petticoat tails, but that is good as mixture is crumbly

A slightly amended version comes up if you google, don't think it usually has wholewheat flour

Just 1:2:3 sugar, butter, flour

If you use 60g butter, you can replace 30g of the flour with ground rice, and that makes it crunchier.

Damn left in oven too long and burned. Blast blast.

Bugger! Beauty of Dan Lepard's is you leave it overnight. If you have a mixer, it's quick to make (still time tonight). This and semolina makes it imho better - more crunch, and you can leave it in the fridge for a few days and bake when you want.
