Obviously the best solution is to drink the whole bottle Grin but is there anything anyone can recommend to stop my Prosecco going flat so that I can have it over a couple of days please?

No way can I jam the cork back in.

I just put a teaspoon in the neck, handle dangling into the bottle. Works every time!

No sorry, I have never, ever needed such a contraption :o

But just came on to say the spoon thing is cobblers

SwingingBalls · 19/04/2015 13:28

ChocolateCherry · 19/04/2015 13:28

I always wonder about the teaspoon. Some people say it works and some say it absolutely doesn't. I used to have a wine bottle stopper I sent off for with silk cut cigarette tokens, but I never had cause to try it Grin

EggsAreNotFromCows · 19/04/2015 13:35

There is no way it could or should work. And there is a scientific paper somewhere that tested it and disproved it.

And yet some people swear by it.
I have never tried it :)

TheCowThatLaughs · 19/04/2015 13:37

I always thought that! Surely the bubbles are small enough to pass between the tea spoon and the neck of the bottle? I just assumed it must be some kind of magic!

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 19/04/2015 13:40

You need a decent vacuum pump thingie. ..

I think that about a lot of things really...the microwave, electricity, the radio, even the fact that I'm talking to people on here...all magic Grin It's pretty obvious I didn't pay attention too much in science at school Blush I'll def try the teaspoon though.

Let us know what happens
No sneaky casting a spell on it though!

I have this, it's what they use in bars, you can buy them off ebay, amazon, etc

Like justa this is mine, given to us when we bought a case of Prosecco from the producers (distant memory!). It grabs onto the neck of the bottle and keeps the bubbles in with its rubber bung. I think Kaiser sell them.

Yes, I think I'll have to conduct my own experiment. Like the look of the stoppers pictured too. Thanks everyone, cheers Smile
