Too much milk in the fridge...

During the holidays it seems that nobody wants cereal for breakfast any more, and I now have at least 4 pints of milk "overstock".
Nobody wants milkshakes or rice pudding, either.

Does anybody have any exciting ideas?

I would just freeze it.

Id make a lot of white or cheese sauce and either freeze on own or in macaroni cheese, lasagne, pasta bake etc

Smoothies. Puddings with custard. Cheese sauce with macaroni or cauliflower, blancmange/Angel Delight, or freeze it.

I can't conceive of too much milk in the fridge. Sorry, Does Not Compute.

I had the same issue a couple weeks ago, plus double the normal amount of eggs I normally order - I mad Rice pudding (not an option here), and also a tarte tropezienne (brioche cake filled with loads of creme patissiere).

You could also make Philadelphia style ice cream (mixture of milk and cream with sugar and vanilla frozen), which I much prefer over normal ice cream (don't like the eggyness of custard based ice creams).

Make paneer and put it in a curry. It's really easy

Cauliflower cheese. Yum. Envy

I think it will just have to be custard or angel delight. Standard response to everything else is 'I don't like it!"...

I had a look at the tarte tropezienne recipe, Mominatrix. It looks amazing! But I am supposed to be eating less, so I don't thing it's going to happen. 12 egg yolks in the pastry cream?!

Mini milk ice creams

britishbakeoffblues · 15/04/2015 21:29

I'd make egg custard. ??

MilkRunningOutAgain · 15/04/2015 22:48

How can this be possible, DS would drink that in a day, it does not compute. I buy extra milk when I want to make things like fish pie, or pasta bakes, Yorkshire puddings, pancakes ( can do savoury ones ), or, mmmmmm, egg custard tarts.

Make cheese if you still have too much! Paneer. Easy and magical.
