Hot Cross Buns

Hello,

I need a good recipe for hot cross buns, please. Easter is this coming Sunday here and I have a sudden craving for toasted hot cross buns with lashings of butter. Only problem is that I have never tried making them before and don't have a clue where to start. I also can't get mixed spice or candied peel, though I can get the mixed spice components except for allspice and mace.

I have found this recipe and this one but no idea whether they sound right.

On the upside, I am the only person here who has eaten a hot cross bun before so if it all goes wrong no one will know the difference.

I also need a decent choereg recipe, if any of you have one.

In the UK yes, but Orthodox Easter is on the 12th.

I made two batches of Paul Hollywood's recipe at the weekend, although I don't put in mixed peel or grated apple, and swap ground mixed spice for cinnamon, and they came out really nice
