Pineapple and potato mash?

Solasum · 02/04/2015 16:25

I am cooking a ham in the slowcooker, in pineapple juice. To be served with mashed potatoes and another veg (either peas or broccoli cheese).

I have a tin of pineapple chunks. Would mashing them into the potato work, or really not?

Sounds grim.

I think really not, but you could always do a small amount as a trial.

Caramelise them in brown sugar a la gary rhodes and serve them on the side?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/04/2015 16:40

No. Just no.

But you could maybe make a chilli-spiked pineapple salsa to have alongside cold leftovers?

I am really open to mixing different flavours but mash+Pineapple is making me cringe. Chunks slightly warmed & served with the ham fine, though.
