They don't sell this in my village shop can I use cream cheese spread instead?

Its for a pasta bake, so pasta, some veg, hard cheese and a couple of eggs cooked in the oven.

No! Try greek yoghurt or even sour cream instead.

OK thanks, no greek yougurt or sour creme either so I think I'll just make a frittata/omlete type thing instead.

At least I'm hoping what I'll end up with if I put cooked pasta, cooked onions and peppers and beaten raw eggs together in a frying pan and cook them!

How about Philadelphia? Get the full fat one.

Or make a white sauce with milk and a spoonful of pesto.

It was a shop own version of philadelphia that I'd intended to use originally, so maybe I will try that after all then. I also have creme fresh in the fridge, so had though about putting that on the frittata when it is cooked.

As you can probably tell I don't normally put much thought in to my food and throw together what I have and eat the consequnces but MIL is round so I'd at least like to aim for something edible.

OK, so why not go back to your original recipe for pasta bake? It sounds lovely.
