According to this food/science/recipe blog tomorrow is pi(e) day. What's your favourite pie recipe and will you be baking a pie tomorrow?

I am doing Jamie's Steak and Guiness pie, though I probably won't get round to preparing it that early on in the day.

I very rarely make pies apart from shepherds pie and boxing day leftover turkey pie, so interested to see some nice recipes.

I love leftover turkey pie. With cream and leeks and mushrooms. Hmm. Might have to do a turkey next year just for the leftovers.

Haggis pie - like a shepherds pie but haggis instead of mince. If I am being indulgent I crumble in some black pudding.

My real favourite is gala pie but I buy that.

I have never heard of either of those.

Yotam Ottolenghi's root vegetable pie. SO much nicer than it sounds. We eat it hot or cold. Delish!! :D

Sausage and tomato
Pastry then a layer of sausage meat, then a tin of chopped tomatoes, then a pastry lid Cook. Eat hot or cold :)

Yes yes yes.

After Cnristmas turkey and ham pie with a cream and stock based sauce and sweetcorn. It is the children's must have.

And the Jamie Oliver chicken pie including surprise sausage meat balls with homemade mushy peas aside is a big family favourite as well.

We are all a bit pie tastic in our house.

Courgette and feta pie. By far my favourite :)

I love that Greek spinach and feta one with flaky pastry. Spanicopita???? Or something like that.

Blackcurrant pie. And not making it tomorrow sadly as blackcurrants at this time of year are like hens teeth.

We have 10 bushes but supply can never meet demand as DS and DH are fiends for blackcurrant pie, and there are no extraneous fruits involved, just a shedload of blackcurrants.

I'm thinking of supplementing freezer supplies with PYO this year.

That should say today not tomorrow.
