Lunch party ideas

Help! I think I might have over-reached myself. I have five adults and assorted kids (2 - 6 yo) coming for lunch on Saturday and I'm really short on time (because of work).

I'd be really grateful for food ideas that would be fairly straightforward to prepare.

Thanks a lot!

Jacket potatoes with the fillings in the middle ofthe table and a salad?

Hot dogs with all the trimmings?

Lasagne and salad?

Quiches and salad?

Pizzas and salad. Or hot dogs as above.

Ottolenghi's lamb shawarma, served with pita, tomato, cucumber, onions & coriander with Harissa for heat, maybe some humous. Everyone helps themselves, even the kids will eat this. It needs marinating the night before and a long slow cook....so so easy!

I also like a good quality bread with ham hock and a home made soup. Kids will eat this too.

Big pot of chilli or similar for everyone.
Rice and/or jacket potatoes to go with it.
Simple salad (cucumber sticks, cherry tomatoes etc)
If dcs are fussy, perhaps add a tray of chicken nuggets to the above, and some babybels or similar.

If anyone asks what to bring, suggest pudding!

With most of the suggestions so far, you can do a lot of the prep on Friday evening. Leaving you just to stick a few things in the oven/stir stuff on the hob with a glass of wine in your other hand, on Saturday lunchtime.
