Storing recipes/raggedy bits of torn magazines?

FurbysMakeSexNoises · 10/03/2015 18:10

So I'm a real one for ripping recipes out of magazines or newspapers that I fancy and I have loads of them and supermarket recipe cards but don't know the best way to store them so I can easily browse through and choose/retrieve one at will. A giant A4 folder with plastic wallets seems a bit unwieldy- are there any other cunning solutions?

Does this win the prize for the dullest posting on MN today? Grin

Type them into Word??

I take a photo and save to evernote. Title the image with a one line description and put in my 'food and recipe' folder. Tis genius.

I have a smaller a5 folder that I (keep intending to) put all mine in.

i do the same as FreeButtonBee with evernote. The best bit is, it searches text in the photo! It's like MAGIC Grin

Yes I do love the search within image feature but I find it tends to blow people's minds!!

Right, I've downloaded Evernote and will, give it a go even though I'm a total luddite. Thanks!

Yy to Evernote. Super easy to snap and save things when I'm out and about, too. Although I do wonder what would happen if that platform ended one day. That's the downside to tech, I guess.

I also use Pinterest to pin more recent things, but that obvs has the same issue, plus you rely on the original Web page to still be kept going.

If you have a tablet, take a photo of them.

Evernote 101

Create a load of folders for things you might like to save

EG
Money
Lists
Children
Personal
Car
Travel
Food

I also have a default general folder called "Inbox"

You can save photos, type in text, send emails to yourself, save web pages.

You should be ale to find your Evernote email address which will be some string of random letters numbers and your username. Save this to your contacts list.

Then when you see something on line you can email it to yourself.

There is also a web clipper which allows you to save web pages directly to evernote at the touch of a button but possibly a bit too advanced for you just yet!

I use it as a brain dump. Image in a paper magazine or article in a newspaper? Take a photo and save to Evernote.

Planning a holiday or just looking for ideas? Email all ideas to Evernote or clip web pages and save to travel folder. Also email boarding cards and reservation emails to evernote so that they are available on the move.

It's amazing, I luffs it.
