Christmas cake recipe help please - no laughing at my pathetic question...

I'm about to attempt my very first Christmas cake and the recipe says

"The night before you make the cake, place all the dried fruits and peel in a bowl and mix in the brandy. Cover the bowl with a cloth and leave to soak for at least 12 hours."

In the ingredients are currants, raisins, sultantas, mixed peel and glace cherries.

Are glace cherries classed as a dried fruit?

It's this recipe if that helps..

I would say yes too. Glace cherries can only improve with a dunking of brandy

and delia's christmas cake is great make sure you do all the feeding

MamaGhoul · 26/10/2006 17:58

how often should I feed?

Also, I don't have an airtight container, will tinfoil do, over top of greaseproof, if I seal it?

I'd use a few layers of tin foil

and if you are amking it now then feed once a week..use a skewer or something to make some holes in it
