I have a dozen on the verge of turning. Are they OK for a crumble? Maybe with some blackberries?

I think pears are too bland for crumble. I made a pear and honey pudding in the summer with a caramelised topping. Peel, core and half the pears. Arrange cut face down in a glass/ ceramic casserole dish. Drizzle with honey.

Make a pancake batter( eggs and flour with a pinch of salt and milk, beat well) and pour over the pears. Cook the pear concoction, and then cook some sugar and water in a saucepan and when caramalised drizzle over pear dish. Serve with Creme Fraiche. The top is crunchy.
