Thinking of getting a Slow Cooker, which one would you recommend?

We are a family of 5, I have been thinking about getting a slow cooker. I do bulk cook and freeze but like the idea of having something pretty much ready when I get home.

They seem to vary in price from £20 to £50. Which ones do you all like best?

This thread is very old now, so some of the suggestions are out of date, but we’ve recently updated our best slow cooker page with the top models loved by Mumsnetters, including options ideal for family life. We hope you find the guide useful!

I bough one from john lewis called Crock pot. I think it was about £35 less than a year ago. I'm really happy with it although I have nothing to compare it too

Mine has a non stick dish which you can put on the hob and fry bits before putting it in the sc. Saves on washing up.

morphy Richards sear and stew.

I have no the the 3.5 and 6.5 litre. You'd definitely feed five from the 3.5. filled it does us two days and some still left over for freezing.

you can use it on the hob and no ceramic taste. love it
