Ok we were discussing my daughters birthday party and the food she wanted, i ignored the carrot soup, but listened to sausage rolls, sandwiches etc but then she said fish.

Well apart from vol-au-vonts (please excuse my spelling) i couldn't think of anything cold, so please inspire me. There can be no nuts.

I make sushi maki rolls with tinned tuna inside, and tuna/mayo/sweetcorn isn't bad as a filling as well.

Pretty simple to make, and my ds likes them

Tuna or salmon sandwiches.

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 23/02/2015 19:23

Prawn ring?

balletgirlmum · 23/02/2015 19:24

Tuna sandwiches, fish sticks or flipper dipper type things.

After reading the middle class thread i was a little nervous starting this one.
Sushi sounds a little adventurous for me.

Filo salmon triangles?

Mini fish cakes?

CMOTDibbler · 23/02/2015 19:31

Sushi sounds posh, but its just fish n rice. Or whatever you want to put in the middle. Its good if anyone is allergic to wheat/gluten, and you can do veg fillings (cucumber, shredded carrot, avocado or beetroot) for veggies, vegans and dairy free

I like fish cakes i have a recipe for little salmon fish cakes.
I may try sushi at home first.

Smoked salmon and cream cheese on billinis. My toddler DS loves them Grin

PatriciaHolm · 23/02/2015 19:40

For mass catering of young kids, tuna sandwiches. Cut into shapes with cookie cutters if you feel the need.

DD loves sushi but I would imagine there would be a lot of waste serving it to a room full of partying primary kids (assuming primary of course, and you don't necessarily know they all have sophisticated tastes!)

RaspberryLemonPavlova · 23/02/2015 19:42

Tuna sandwiches were always really popular at my DCs parties, not many people made them and most kids seemed to like them.

Not for parties, but I used to make a tuna and sweetcorn flan/quiche so you could make mini ones.

Tuna pasta salad?

Fish fingers?

One of local soft play places does fish fingers as finger food for parties and they always go down a storm.

as a pp upthread- my DGS (just over 2) loves smoked salmon- he will scoff a complete packet if allowed :)
