Just that really. I realised I forgot to put the sugar in after I'd put the mixture in the cases. Oven was on for something else. So shoved them in anyway. They're chocolate ones. Are they going to be inedible? Would icing help?

Make a sugar syrup and soak them with that. It may make a difference!

I think they will be a bit bitter.
I would try to soak in sugar syrup :)

Oh god they are disgusting. Ds1,4, said so too. Thanks for the suggestions, but I'm not throwing more time / ingredients at them now. Oh. And they look like turds. Photo to follow.

I just remembered making similar mistake and was desperate to make use of my pastry as I was going away and needed to bring something with me.

I crumbled the pastry and made those:

where she says mas?a she means butter
as you didn't use sugar in your pastry you can add some to the melted butter to balance out cocoa

Cake pops? Crumble the cake and mix it with buttercream then mould it into balls. They're normally massively oversweet so might be quite nice with a more bitter cake.

Soak them in sherry or marsala or tia maria, cut into slices add cream and chocolate shavings then thats nearly Tiramasu.
