Meal ideas for our busy day tmw?

Trying to decide what to cook tmw. 3 kids coming round at 10 - the kids are 11, 8 and 6 - to join my DC who are 3 and 6. We need to do lunch for them, then their parents are coming later for early supper around 6.

What shall I cook for each meal? Not pasta as I hate cooking big amounts of pasta. I was thinking 2 roast chicken with baguette potatoes and salad for lunch. But what for a nice dinner? Crowd pleasuring but not dull?

If you are cooking a big meal later I would go with more of a picnic lunch.

Yeah maybe better.

But what for dinner?? 5 adults and 5 kids?

Roast chicken, crusty bread, salad is easy and feeds a crowd, olives, guacamole, coleslaw etc.

For lunch, pizzas sliced up with cucumber and carrot sticks, strawberries etc.

All very easy!

Do the chicken for the evening. Add x2 different salads.

For lunch let the kids make their own pizzas ( or just add toppings if the bases ready done). Fruit on skewers.

Yes was just thinking DIY pizzas.

Chicken so boring but easy win for dinner I guess.

Do the chicken roasted in a tray with garlic/ chicken stock and red current jelly. Winner and so simple

I was going to suggest making pizza for lunch :) it will be something they will enjoy and it keeps them entertained for a while too!

Why not get them busy making dessert for everyone?

Going for pizza for lunch and Jamie Oliver pork goulash for dinner

May get them to help with puds :-)
Hope they all like it!!
