Drinks and nibbles

Having a bit of a get together on Sunday, have said I'll do drinks and nibbles but guests will all likely bring bottles of booze too.

It's from 5, folks with kids will prob leave around 7 but childless people may stay on. Thought I'd hung a ton of pizzas in the oven for the kids, but looking for some nice ideas beyond chips'n'dips for adults

Need to have a few veggie and vegan options

baked brie or camembert is a good one - I have a vegan cheesey casserole dip thing I can do too, maybe some usual things like olives and meats but need more veggie friendly options I think.

Will prob do my usual pesto stuffed mushrooms, they normally go down fairly well

Current faves are oregano crostini (come in green/white striped bags) with a smear of goat cheese & blob of chutney.
Fave vegan nibble is pitta chips (pitta bread cut into 8 triangles, s&p, olive oil, oregano, bake for 8 mins) with home made guacamole (rough mashed ripe avocado, finely chopped red chilli & red onion, squeeze of lime and some coriander). Yum!

Ooh, also mini mozzarella balls, seasoned, wrapped in Parma ham strips & a basil leaf, drizzle olive oil

Mini fishcakes with sweet chilli and little bread cups filled with crumbled cheese & chive, pate or prawns went quick at Christmas. Make the bread cups in a bun tin with rolled out bread buttered & baked for 5-10mins.

Could do little pastry bites with tomato and/or tapenade? Most shop bought puff pastry (here) is vegan

Pesto stuffed mushrooms- sound amazing! Could you possibly post how you make them? Are they big mushrooms?

Sorry I am no help at all!

Pastry bites is a great idea

I use just chestnut mushrooms, mix pesto with breadcrumbs, stuff a bit in each mushroom (stalk removed) and pop in the oven at about 200 for about 15mins depending on size of mushrooms

Fry some leeks and mushrooms (I use bacon but can leave out for veggies).

Spread a tub of soft cheese with garlic and herbs over a sheet of puff pastry, top with the leeks & mushrooms, season with black pepper and some paprika, cover with grated cheese and bake for 20 mins.

I make this for a starter when people come to dinner, take it to work when we have office buffets and made a veggie and non veggie version for a friend's birthday buffet - everybody loves it and asks for the recipe. Can be eaten hot or cold.
