Hey, am just going through the gestational diabetes thing again and was wondering if anyone had any decent recipes for chinese dishes like bbq/teriyaki/Cantonese style that could be done with taking the sweetness down or is it a lost cause?! Thanks

You can make quite a nice Sweet & Sour sauce by using a combination of orange segments, a little orange juice, soy sauce, rice wine, tomato puree, salt and a spot of vinegar mixed with cornflour. If you're trying to keep blood sugars stable, however, you should avoid not only sugar but also very starchy foods like sticky Chinese rice.

Yummily has some low sugar recipes including a teriyaki salmon

Search for yummily.co.UK/low_sugar

Thanks, was thinking brown rice as that is better for my levels. Will investigate yummily and see how my levels go. 5 months of this to go :(
