Frozen berries?

Silly question perhaps......

If I defrost a big punnet of frozen mixed berries, once defrosted, can I cook them in a crumble???

Yes but they will be already "broken down" and mushy compared with raw fruit and will hardly need any time to cook.

I'd make it a thin crumble layer (so maybe use a larger dish) and cook it quicker.

Or just go ahead and it will be fine

Oh lovely, thanks for that.

When I make an apple crumble I always cook the apples first, just a bit scared of the whole frozen thing!!!!

Thank you :-)

To be honest I just bung mine in the dish frozen, put the crumble on top and bake. It's not particularly mushy when it comes out.

Same. I just bung my berries in frozen. And I don't cook the apples either.
And I don't use a thin layer of crumble...

Oh but I do sprinkle a fair bit of caster sugar on top of the frozen berries.
