Dinner party ideas beef or chicken only!

Need some recipe ideas for a dinner party for 6. Trouble is one guest only really likes beef or chicken (no curry). I don't like stew very much. I fancy beef Wellington but don't want to break the bank either! Wracking brain for something exciting or dinner party-ish! Any ideas? Shock

coq au vin. Easy, but feels specislu.

A good old roast.

Or a chicken pie.

Or a wonderful Moroccan chicken and vegetable tagine.

How about chicken and bacon casserole (in wine with peppers and although a touch of paprika not spicy - hopefully not too stew-like)

Tastes a lot more fancy than the ingredients and effort : )

Thanks for ideas! Just thought maybe ox tail stew - that is a stew I like! Think my friend did a Jamie Oliver one with spinach dumplings....anyone done that?

Beef in Guinness (with mushrooms and carrots and dumplings).

I tried a Mary Berry recipe yesterday, and it was great. Chicken breasts stuffed with peppered cream cheese and tarragon, wrapped with parma ham. Bake in a roasting tin for 30m. Put to one side to keep warm, and use the juices in the roasting tin to make a sauce on the hob (add creme fraiche and more tarragon, basically). Sprinkle on more tarragon to finish. I served it with fresh tagliatelli and pan fried mushrooms, with generous helpings of the cream sauce! It was really good, and looked quite dinner party-ish.

Beef olives, fill them with a carrot onion celery or mushroom and onion mixture, add some horseradish sauce for a bit of bite, quite an economical dish as the fillings make them go further.
Serve with a good wine gravy, potatoes dauphinois and vegetables. Not at all stew like, look very good, all done beforehand too!
