From my home-grown tomatoes and apples and it's delicious! How long do I have to leave it until it's ready? Delia says 3 MONTHS!!! Is she right?

Thanks

I guess in 1972 no one used garlic really

Whereas in last 20 years everyone uses it

I just thought it was funny if the recepes are copied from 34 years ago

There are some extra notes about ingrediants in side panel as well but I couldn't be bothered to type them all out

I reckon I will be making some chutney when I have got some jars

What kind of jars did you guys use?

Sophiev73 · 23/10/2006 21:16

I meant to collect them but was crap and poorly organised so went to Lakeland and bought 12 for £4. My mum goes to the local dump and gets them to collect them for her!!

I've made two batches this year, all from home grown produce [smug emoticon]. It's best to leave for three months in a darkened place, however i opened a jar from the first batch at the weekend after about six weeks and it is fabulous.

Thanks for the Lakeland tip Sophiev73, I can't stand having my cupboards overflowing with stored empty jam jars so will prob buy next year!
