Low sugar diet for my 10yo

Ihavenobrain · 09/02/2015 11:21

I'm struggling on foods which are low in sugar and sweeteners for pack ups.
I think my ds reacts to lots of sugar so want to try and cut down.
Can anyone help?

Thankyou. Is there an alternative to yoghurt. Most are full of sugar Confused

Buy natural bio yoghurt and whizz up or mash some fruit (blueberries/strawberries/bananas) and mix it in. There will still be sugar (fructose) present but not loads of refined white sugar.

Or you could make some granola and mix that in but go easy on the honey and maple syrup. recipe from BBC here

What about tzatziki with a pitta? rcipe here and some falfels.

Total full fat yogurt is unsweetened and delicious. Or you could get an EasiYo and start making your own - they do a few unsweetened varieties.
