Its lovely. Sit it on some scrunched up balls of tin foil and make sure it doesnt touch the sides of the pot.

It's lovely! I've never used foil, maybe add a bit of veg. It won't brown but will be really tender and tasty

How weird I've just this second put my chicken in the slow cooker then I saw this post !I just plonk it in pot then add a small glass of water then leave it on low.

I generally make stock at the same time. I cover the chicken about half way and chuck in stuff like dried mushrooms, bay leaves, peppercorns etc Tender chicken and tasty stock.

I think I'm going to do it. I can crisp the skin after, I read? What happens if it does touch the sides because I think it will? Layer of veg I reckon as I've got loads of slightly soft celery and carrots! Thanks.

Well i think my dilemma is solved as its a bit too big for the slow cooker, argh!! It's a rice cooker/slow cooker so its not huge. V annoyed!

I do mine dry, with no water. If it touches the sides then these bits just burn a little. No major problem as I just cut those bits off.
