Bannoffee Pie

Please help me find the yummiest Bannoffee Pie recipe.

The yummy base, the gooey toffee middle and freshly sliced bananas on the top.

I've got friends coming for supper tomorrow and for some reason BP keeps popping into my head, so no other pudding will do!

Many thanks

Just wanted to say this thread inspired me to make Banoffee Pie this weekend and it was truly scrumptious.

It's all gone now

Special offer in Waitrose on the jars! Maybe Mumsnet will do to Banoffee sauce what Delia did to Cranberries!

Obviously I had to buy another jar, so soon after the last one!!

Is evaporated milk same as condensed milk? Probably a thick question but have can of evaporated milk in cupboard and just wondered?

Freckle · 24/06/2004 23:46

No, absolutely not. Don't try using the "light" condensed milk either. Doesn't work.

Thanks Freckle!!

Saw my favourite thread had come up again; since the thread started in April, I have found M&S Banoffee Pie, it is FANTASTIC, the BEST pre-made one I have tasted.

Hi, I'm new to mumsnet, came across it by chance searching for a recipe for Bannofee Pie, I found it and Mumsnet, thanks everyone!:0

I've only ever boiled the condensed milk for one and a half hours, and it's always been absolutely fine. I tried following the tin's recipe last time as I was in a rush, and ended up with solid fudge (followed timings etc to the letter) - so will stick to boiling the tin as always from now on.
