Lots of family coming to stay - ideas for cheap meals please!

Looking for some meals that won't cost the earth to feed 6/8 people. Something I can freeze in advance maybe? We don't have a slow cooker. Thanks.

if you have an asda they do really nice big cheap pizzas that made to order in store.

Beef casserole recipe.

Spend about 3 pounds on braising steak, cut into pieces. Then dip the pieces in flour before frying in a bit of oil until brown (do 2 batches if pan too small to fry them comfortably). Add 1 chopped onion, then a tin of tomatoes, sliced carrots and chopped swede, or any other veg you have rotting in the fridge (well maybe not too rotten).

Put this in a casserole dish along with one or two oxo cubes and enough water to cover the meat. Leave it in the oven for about 2 hours. Serve with either bread or mashed potatoes.

marinade some chicken drumsticks or wings and serve with potato wedges, corn on the cob, baked beans colslaw. Its kinda like a healthy kfc
