Do flies in a honeypot contaminate the honey?

Son left lid off honey this morning. I came home and found 2 ginormous blubottles approaching a kind of orgasmic drowning in honey death. Couldn't quite bear their buzzes of pleasure/doom so fished them out with a spoon and washed them under the tap and they miraculously recovered and flew away. Should I chuck the honey in the bin or is it still edible?

I'd chuck it personally (because I'm incredibly squeamish - I'd probably have put the lid on it and just chucked it in bin, flies and all!!!!), but have no scientific knowledge about whether they'd contaminate it or not!!!
