I've cooked a chicken tonight; can I use the leftovers in a slow cooker tomorrow and cook a a casserole? (And does anyone have a yummy recipe for this if so???) I'm one of those veggie types, so don't know much about cooking meat Smile

Not sure, I've never slow-cooked already cooked meat before, it might go very stringy or dissolve a bit! Probably OK if you do the veg and sauce and only put the chicken in for the last 30 mins or so.

Highly recommend 2nd recipe but yes, add meat just before serving.

Thank you, got and caramel! I hadn't thought about adding the meat last. I was just worried from a safety point of view.

Yes, I'd add meat towards the end when the contents of the slow cooker are up to temp, that would be safer reheating-wise. Or if you wanted to be super safe you could also blast in mic first (though would probably dry meat out)
