Frozen bananas turning to ice cream - how do you do it please?

I keep seeing in magazines that you can make simple banana ice cream by just freezing bananas. Would be great for my toddler.

I feel a bit daft for asking but how do you actually do that?

I mean do you freeze them whole and peeled or do you mush them up and freeze in Tupper ware?

I tried to mash them up and freeze but they just went to a solid lump of ice that we couldn't really use. But then, if you just freeze as whole bananas, how do you get the kind of ice cream scoop effect they always show in magazines?

What am I missing? Has anyone done this?

I freeze them sliced, then put them in a blender with a small drizzle of syrup.

Slice bananas. Place on the baking tray and blend when frozen. You can add a couple of tbsps of milk to loosen whilst blending put it's not often necessary. Smile
