Need a casserole dish for hotpot, don´t have one was wondering if my slow cooker pot would do, or will it meet an untimely death? It´s earthenware, not sure if it would hold up to 3 hours in the oven.....

Does anyone have any idea?!

I thought earthenware was designed for going in ovens?

Me too, but would hate for it to crack or something. It was my mum´s from the 70´s I think, so worry that if it breaks I´d struggle to replace it.

I would say that as long as it's just the earthenware/ceramic part - and you casserole it, like you would if you were slow cooking (i.e. long slow cooking - 150 degrees or so) it would be fine.

Why don't you make it IN the slow cooker?

cant you just throw all the ingredients in the slow cooker and cook it from there?
