Am currently trying to stem the tide. DD2 tends to be fairly fussy at tea time, then almost without fail whines "I'm hungreeeee" just before bed time. If she hasn't eaten her tea, I only let her have a glass of milk and maybe some fruit. But it pisses me off too.

Of course i know what she really wants is a chocolate biscuit or "something nice". But I don't give in. Unless its a weekend and she's eaten most of her tea.....or I want one.

Have resolved to be stricter about snacking before tea in the hope that more will be eaten at the proper meal time, therefore resulting in less hunger at bedtime. Not sure if it is genuine hunger though or just recreational-bedtime-delaying-snacking.

I've started giving them dinner a bit later with a more substantial snack in the afternoon

but then, I'm not sure my problem is exactly the same as yours as mine will wolf down tea (big portions) and then still ask for food every 10 minutes or so till bedtime grrr

tonight I gave them tea in the half time of the football and they didn't get a chance to fit much in between then and bedtime
