Still partly frozen mince meat?

I won't bore you with a story about my beef mince meat. Grin

Took it out of the freezer last night to defrost. Fancy spag bol for tea. I let it defrost in the fridge, its still partly frozen. Can I still cook this up? Or would you not? Can I pop it into my microwave on the defrost setting?

Thanks. :)

I would just cook it up like that.

Pointlessfan · 10/11/2014 16:13

I'd stick it in the microwave on defrost for a couple of minutes.

Behoove · 10/11/2014 16:14

You can give it a quick buzz in the micro defrost, I've done that before.

I often cook from frozen or partly frozen. High heat in frying pan and break it up with a fork as you push it around the pan.

LuckyLopez · 10/11/2014 16:17

Boil it.

Brilliant! Thank you!

I would just cook it from frozen, so long as it all ends up piping hot there's no reason to worry, and by the time you turn it into spag bol it's definitely going to have been cooked thoroughly.

Chrissy41 · 10/11/2014 16:24

yep just cook - it breaks up so small will defrost itself - certainly don't boil it though.

secretsquirrels · 10/11/2014 16:36

Boiled mince

FruitCakey · 10/11/2014 16:40

I appreciate the advice but I just couldn't boil it. Shock
