I have made a massive chilli con carne and obviously didn't ramp up the spices enough now it is cooked but lacking….
can I just throw in more spices? My instinct is telling me that they need to be cooked out…. I used chilli powder, cinnamon and cumin. What else do you add to your chilli? I'd like it to be super rich and tasty (in the next hour!!!)

And I mean tasty rather than hot as there will be children eating it who don't like it super spicy!

Tomato purée?
Worcester Sauce?
Grated chocolate?

Of course you can just chuck some more spices in! Plenty more cumin for sure.

Thank you both - have just added chocolate which has really helped, will add cumin now.

I just had in my head that you had to cook it off...

I always add a bit of Pimenton (smoked paprika) to give it a smoky taste.
