Right - I want to know how many of you make your own gravy when you cook a roast dinner

I just can't make home-made gravy. DH can, it's lovely and thick and tasty and we use the same method.

I'm not keen on using Bisto. Only for stretching home made gravy out to go further. On it's own it just tastes fake and has a wierd texture, to me.

So come on, own up. If you do a roast for just your immediate family, what type of gravy do you make?

Can anyone who makes an amazing lamb gravy please help me? My mum's given me 2 lamb steaks from sheep off her own farm. I rarely buy lamb so want to make this amazing. I was going to do it in a foil parcel with red wine, fresh chopped rosemary and chopped garlic. Can anyone advise whether this is the best gravy/jus for lamb?
TIA

Ha!! Thank you so much for that - Luckily my cats are a bit more receptive to my kisses...er, I think. Smile
Luckily I managed the gravy just fine and it was loooooovely.
