Its a meduim size on and it says it has no giblets inside. Never bought one bofore 0 cant stand the thought of touching raw meat but anyhow...

Have bought a lemon and some garlic to go in it. Do I put them in before cooking? Do I have to peel the lemon?

Do I put oil on it or anything?

Also how do I do roast potaotes? Boil first and then put in oven or just stick them straight in? Do I have to put oil on them?

(Have never bought oil either!)

Have also for the first time bought Sweet Potato which im going to put in the oven? Do I cook it first? Same as normal potatoes?

Going to roast an onion!!!

How long will they take to roast? How long should the chicken be in before I put every thing else in the oven? How can I tell when the chicken is cooked?

Bought veggies to cook too!! (Im assuming you just stick them in a pan for 15 mins?)

How bad does it sound that ive never cooked veggies???

Am working on it though....

Good-o.
Did you make your own gravy?? (No nasty Bisto I hope???)

misdee · 01/10/2006 23:22

urgh, moondog i used bisto the other day (ran out of stock), oh it was horrible, tasted yuk.

moondog · 01/10/2006 23:23

'ran out of stock'
Eh?
What stock was that Misdee?

misdee · 01/10/2006 23:29

basically, i cocked up and drained things down the sink (dh had got home the day before and i was still half asleep). usualy use meat juices, veg juices etc. plus a little of this and that. but found some bisto in the cupboard. urgh. never again.

(i used to be very lazy, but love cooking real food)

since dd1 allergies went off the scale over the summer and was in hospital loads we are eating healthier, dont use much in the way of convience foods, except for birds eye fishfingers.. she won some skittles in a pass the parcel the today, so swapped them for choc buttons.

Soy is great for adding a bit of colour to yuor gravy as well as being nice tasting.

misdee · 01/10/2006 23:31

dont have soy

moondog · 01/10/2006 23:32

One for the shopping trolley next time eh???

misdee · 01/10/2006 23:33

depends on the salt%

moondog · 01/10/2006 23:35

Ooh I am virtuous about a lot of stuff, but not salt (or the odd fag.)

A girl has to live a little eh???

misdee · 01/10/2006 23:36

dh has to have low salt content.

he cant smoke either

moondog · 01/10/2006 23:37

Ahhhh....
Best lay off then for his sake.

misdee · 01/10/2006 23:39

i know. with dd1 allergies, dh low salt diet and dd2 food avoidance (dont ask) mealtimes are fun fun fun!!

at least dd3 eats. she polished off a big bowl of brocolli at MIL earlier, she is going to be pooing green tomorrow right?

moondog · 01/10/2006 23:40

Maybe not.I do broccoli big time and have never shat green.
Beetroot however...Now that is interesting.

misdee · 01/10/2006 23:43

for a small child the bowl was the size of her head and it was full. (she also ate some potatoes, carrots and some ham, proper 'good' ham, that MIl cooked).

will try the beetroot.

sweetcorn, now is there any nutrition in that, as i swear she just sh*ts out a whole corn on the cob.

moondog · 01/10/2006 23:44

size of her head lol
Nah,I reckon sweetcorn passes straight through. My ds is mad for it.

misdee · 01/10/2006 23:47

it is actually very strange, with dd1+2 i craved meat, and they mainly eat meat. with dd3 i went off meat. i lived on salads and lots of fruit and vegetables, and minimal amount of meat. she loves fruit veg, salad, but isnt too fond of meat.

SSSandy · 02/10/2006 09:09

I was drooling about the roast chicken last night so we're having one today. Don't fancy the garlic and lemon so much though, sorry!
