DS will be coming on a visit soon. He's mentioned a few times how much he likes Mexican food, so i thought I'd do a Mexican night for us.
I've never had Mexican food, so any suggestions as to what to make or buy ready made would be great.
DS is vegetarian so no chilli con carne Grin
Is Mexican like tapas with a series of lots of small dishes?

Glad it went well, Allalone.

Tea - yes: I like it with lentils but dp and dds prefer the Quorn version. If doing lentils, I tend to use a big handful each of red, green and puy.

Feta is a very poor substitute for Queso Fresco- whatever Thomasina says (I grew up there).

I recommend the books by Rick Bayless, Rosa Mexicana or Diana Kennedy for really good authentic Mexican food. Thomasina's, while nice enough, is bastardised Mexican.

Oohh! It's awash with lentils here ATM, I might try the lentil version at the end of the week!

Fab thank you, I will try that!

Just marking place so I can make the amazing Remus chilli Wink Does it work in the slow cooker?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 21/10/2014 20:26

I've done the lentil one in the slowcooker before, and it's fine. Not tried the Quorn one but am sure it would work.

Feeling the pressure now - I hope you like it!
