Wewere given rather alot of lovely organic carrots and dp offered to wash them...and left them in the bath. See? Perfectly logical

I madea very carroty pie thisevening - a Cranksrecipe - but it wasn't overly popular with the small ones. Ds1 in particularprefers his veg au naturelle...
We hadawacky andunusual bit of co-operation thisevening - dd1 topping, tailing and peeling (they needed it - I'm not a habitual peeler) and ds1 slicing. About 50 carrots if dd1 isto be believed... Although the alternative wastidying their roomsso perhaps that explainsthesudden enthusiasm for veg prep.

ah yes, these seasonal gluts are so hard for us allotmenty types. Yes.

(people keep giving me vegetables when I go up there. I get beetroots pressed into my hands so that I don't leave my wilderness emptyhanded)

We havea friend/neighbour who growscourgettes....
I can now incorporatethem into any meal, and jolly useful they are too for padding thingsout! We have loads of applesat the mo - yum and yum again!
