What would you give a 2.7yr before he goes to bed?

My ds is still having milk (about 5-6oz) before he goes to bed. He also has the same in the morning but he his toilet trained through the day but is still wet every night. he has been dry through the day for about 3 months now. He has his tea at about 4.30pm and goes to bed at 7.15pm, what would you give him at bedtime?

I dont see what the problem is myself. My ds is 3.2 and still has 8oz at bed time and still wears a nappy at night.
I have started to not put his nappy on after his bath and get him to have a wee then brush his teeth then i put his nappy on immediately prior to getting into bed.
I want to ease him into a new bedtime routine slowly.
Then i will put his milk drink back by 10 mins/20 mins/30mins and do it that way.
When he is ready to be dry at night then he will let you know.
I know what you mean though, its impossible to expect them to be dry at night after consuming so much liquid prior to bed.
Im really not worried about it, it will happen when it happens just like every step along this path that little people take!
Are you worried about it?

my dd (4 and 4 months) is only just dry at night. personally, I thought her bedtime milk was more important (as she loves it) than being dry at night.
I'd just keep on doing what you're doing and wait till he stops night-weeing of his own accord.

My DD1 still has a bottle of milk before bed and has been dry at night since age 2.1. I think it all depends when they learn to wake for a wee.

my ds has never stopped having milk to go to bed. Hew is 2.11yrs and always found when in nappies he was wet as he knew he had the nappy on so when he was 2.6yrs he asked for no nappy and we went with it just prompting him to go for a big wee before bed. He has had about 3 night accidents in total.

Think wetting at night at his age and only being dry in the day for 3 months is ok. Woujldn't worry about it too much, he'll get there int he end. I'd still give him his milk before bed, then bath, use the toilet, wash hnads, brush teeth and bed. But what do I know, not been there myself yet so....

I agree, the milk is dead important and i personally want to carry on and ensure that he gets it.

Thanks for all you advise, I will carry on with the milk just b4 bed. normaly he has bath then goes to toilet and gets ready for bed, has milk and brushes teath. I am not worried he is still wet at night, I just wasn't aware that so many children were still wet at night. Don't realy have meany friends with babys and was just hearing what so many mums were saying at play group. I know i shouldent compare as all kids are different but just couldent help wondering if i was doing somthing wrong. Thanks eveyone again.

both my children were over 3 before they toilet trained during the day let alone night.i really wouldnt worry at this stage.as far as i know, hv's dont worry until the child gets to 7?? somewhere around that age.milk before bed is fine, especially at that age and if it means the child is relaxed so sleeps better through the night then carry on with it.if you're deliberatly trying to get them not to wet at night then id bring the milk forward gradually like Donbean says and then there's the possibility of going to the toilet and getting rid of the milk he's drunk before he gets into bed.i really wouldnt worry at this stage at all about it.my youngest ds was 3.6 when i toilet trained him and he was dry day and night within a wek.it will happen.dont be pressured by statistics etc.he's perfectly normal.

My 2 have a cup of warm milk before bed. They have bath, warm milk and story with cuddles. DS2 (aged 3 and a half) does a wee, brush teeth then bed. DS3 is only 21 months so no wee for him.

DS2 was dry in the day at 2.7, but not dry at night until 3.1, when he decided he didn't want to wear nappies at night. He has been great, very few accidents and takes himself to the loo if needs be.

Your little one sounds normal. Lots of children are dry during the day, but not at night and I think the bedtime milk and settling down is far more important. He' ll get there.

DDis 3.7 and still has a cup of milk at bedtime, she is now dry during the night, has been for about 2 months now. It did take a long time as she was dry during the day from 2 but she got there. Occasionally I hear her get up in the night but not often. I don't think I am going to stop her milk.
