And it was bloody delicious! And so easy to make too. What other sauces are easy to make from scratch?

Particularly interested if anyone knows how to make a sauce similar to the uncle bens creamy tomato pasta bake sauce - do you just whack a bit of mascapone into a bolognase type sauce?

satay sauce: how would you cook the meat to go with it. I was thinking of making sauce then tipping over strips of chicken and placing in oven?

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 16/08/2014 17:38

I don't do the conventional strips of meat on skewers thing, I mainly use it for a dressing on a salad. If I was going to I would probably put a little on the meat and grill it but keep the bulk of it for dipping.

The salad we use it for consists of rice noodles cooked and rinsed with cold water till completely chilled, mixed with lots of shredded spring onion and carrot, topped with either shredded poached chicken breast or poached fresh salmon and then the satay sauce.
