Do you need to brown chicken before slow cooking?

I bought a slowcooker yesterday

I am sure i would be fine not browning skinless chicken, but when it comes to skin-on recipes, I wondered what happens to chicken skin in a slow cooker if it is not browned at the beginning or end? Does the skin stay all sloppy and pale?

it doesn't brown in the slow cooker no so if you want it brown you need to do it before slow cooking. And use very little liquid when you cook too as nothing evaporates.

If it's covered in coloured sauce you don't notice it. I sometimes do brown with chicken dipped in a spoonful of flour to thicken it.

You don't have to brown meat. It saves on washing up too!

Just stick a chicken in the SC, turn on and leave.

Thanks all it was great. Delicious. Chucked bones and leftover cartilage etc back in now with leftover juices and some veg to make stock now overnight
