Never tried it in my new(ish) oven.

Are there any good tips you wouldn't mind sharing please?

Thanks!

Pick a good baking variety like King Edward. Make sure the potato is completely dry and prick all over with a fork. Put a drop of oil in the palm of your hand and then massage it all over the skin. Sprinkle with a little salt. Bake straight onto the rack at about 180C for 60-90 minutes depending on the size of the potato, turning once during cooking. The oil & salt helps the skin crisp up during cooking.

Thank you so much ! I'll put the oven on now. My dh wanted me to cook him some for his lunches plus I thought if I was doing that I might as well make some for our tea.

I just do a skewer through the middle of a baking potato, sometimes a splash of oil and salt, oven anywhere between 200 and 240 and check it after half an hour ish! Always perfectly fluffy inside of a crispy skin :) always been my fave meal!

I love jacket pots but they are strictly off the menu in this heat. Trying to avoid using my oven where possible tbh! We also cover in little oil, season then bake 60-90mins.
