If you buy sliced bread, what brand do you buy?

I like sliced bread because a) it saves time and b) my dh is seemingly incapable of slicing a loaf neatly and it only takes one of his blundering attempts and the loaf is finished

I am totally loyal to Sainsburys Organic stoneground sliced as I like dense, wholemeal bread with NO BITS in it (granary - shudder)

In tescos this am they had about a quizillion types of sliced bread but no nice dense plain wholemeal.

What do you buy?

However we also make homemade wholemeal so kids get a mix.

NotAnOtter · 12/09/2006 10:37

Nemo1977 · 12/09/2006 10:39

notanotter ours is the white. Must admit kids prefer the home made though..its dh and I who like the white for toast

anniediv · 12/09/2006 10:44

Warburton's white toastie and the seeded batch ( I think it's called that)

NomDePlume · 12/09/2006 10:45

Warbutons seeded batch (the one in the purple packet)

Tesco Finest cursty white sliced loaf.

Iklboo · 12/09/2006 10:45

Warburtons Toastie loaf - nothing is better for your toast in the mornings & the occasional naughty chip butty (AND for greasing the slide when I were a nipper)

NomDePlume · 12/09/2006 10:45

crusty

foxinsocks · 12/09/2006 10:47

I loved the Kingsmill Wholemeal Gold (no bits) but I haven't seen it in Sainsburys or Tescos for ages so at the moment we have M&S soft wholemeal loaf (lovely) and some Kingsmill white stuff.

lilymolly · 12/09/2006 11:00

as a 30 year old who still cuts crusts of bread! it has to be invisible crust from hovis the wholemeal one!! its lovely

Gingerbear · 12/09/2006 11:03

hovis wholemeal
hovis best of both for scruff's sandwiches (fish fingers and lashings of Ketchup - ask Mrs Wong - but I think she prefers Mothers Pride)

Oh yes Enid I buy the SO stoneground, it is moist and has a brilliant texture. The nicest of the sliced bread by a long way

CantSleepWontSleep · 12/09/2006 11:11

Burgen wholegrain and cranberry. I like bits!

crazydazy · 12/09/2006 11:12

I prefer the Best of Both. Sometimes I buy the milk roll as DS loves this toasted.

CountessDracula · 12/09/2006 11:12
