So how hard is it to make gluten free pastry?

I've never done it before but I want to make a gluten free quiche for a friend this week.

I have the following recipe:

200g flour
100g butter
1 egg
4 tbsp water

Does that sound about right? I read that it can be quite dry and an egg will help to moisten it.

If anyone has any tips or foolproof recipes I'd be terribly grateful and you can come round for a try. Ta very much.

I have never managed to make decent g-f pastry, but if you have a large Asda near you, I highly recommend the new Genius frozen pastry. They do both puff and shortcrust and both are fab. Unfortunately though it's only stocked in large branches of Asda. Sainsbury's and Tesco both stock the Dietary Specials frozen shortcrust pastry which is ok too.

(Sorry not to be able to pass on any tips to actually make it yourself though Smile)

Def go for the frozen pasty - home made is a nightmare

Really? Well that does sound a lot easier. I did buy a bag of gf pastry but I can always give it to my friend. Grin

Ta.
