Help! I'm mildly domestically challenged and want to make something delicious for DH but this is what's in the fridge. Have veg and cream and wine and rice/pasta/couscous but no inspiration.
Any ideas very gratefully received

cut up, marinade them in something spicy then make up a sauce with tinned tomatoes, garlic, onions, veg, whatever you want to chuck in. Serve with rice or pasta or couscous.

Turkey stroganoff?
. some chopped mushrooms
? 25g butter, diced
? 2 tbsp olive oil
. 1 onion, diced
? 2 turkey fillets, cut into strips
? 2 tbsp plain flour
? 1 tsp paprika
? 1 glass of white wine
? 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
? Dash of Worcester sauce
? 50ml double cream
Heat 1 tbsp of the olive oil in a pan and add diced onions. Sweat gently until softened.
? Heat the rest of the olive oil in a frying pan, roll the turkey strips in plain flour, paprika, salt and pepper and fry for 3-4 minutes until browned.
? Add the white wine, Dijon mustard, Worchester sauce, cream and chopped mushrooms to the pan with the onions in them and cook for 3 minutes.
? Add the cooked turkey to the sauce and heat through.
Serve with rice or baked potatoes

have you got lemon juice and olive oil? If so mix some up and marinate them. If you've got bacon/prosciutto wrap the steaks in them and bake in an oven for 20 odd minutes. You could chop some veg up small, cook it and then add to couscous made up with veg stock instead of water.

Turkey, onions, chickpeas, dried apricots, tspn of harrisa paste, mushrooms , red/yellow peppers, flaked almonds, tspn honey, half-teaspoon corriander, tin of toms, bung together in a big pot and simmer for a long time. Voila, Morrocan style turkey, serve with cous cous and pitta bread.

If you havne't got harrisa paste, mix oilive oil, garlic, cayenne pepper, mint. Twill do as a subsitute base flavour.

Hi AnelaSunshine,
Here are a few suggestions off the top of my head,
You can do you steak a la king style- Julienne(thin strips of)Mixed bell pepper, onion & sliced mushrooms in a garlic cram sauce, Cook the steaks and nape-(put ontop of) the sauce over the steak.

How about doing a Turkey steak Hawaii- very easy but also very nice. Cook the steaks, when done just add a couple of tinned pineapple rings ontop, put in the middle of ring a cherry, cover it with sliced cheese and put it in the oven to melt and colour.Puta fried egg ontop.

Stir frys are always good, quick and easy to do.

If you lilke the sound of any of the above i will be more than happy to give the recipe. Happy cooking
Wil
