Oily fish recipes - and other cholesterol-beating ideas?

Hi all, my husband's cholesterol is a bit up so we are going to increase our intake of oily fish. We both like salmon, trout and tuna and I will be stocking up on sardines and pilchards for quick meals on toast. Any good ideas for using smoked mackerel? Any other good ideas? Thanks in advance!

PS I know that tinned tuna doesn't count as an oily fish. Something to do with the canning process affecting the omega 3 content.

Mackerel pate - mix smoked mackerel with lemon juice, black pepper and a little bit of butter/spread and have it on crusty bread with salad.

It's also quite nice in flaky chunks mixed into cold rice with yoghurt, chopped peppers and sweetcorn

Thanks - two good ideas there. I've made smoked mackerel pate in the past with cottage cheese but that dilutes the mackerel a lot so will try your way instead.
