Food ideas for a nearly 8 month old

Hi my little boy is almost 8 months and so far seems to be enjoying his food, however I have recently tried to make some of his purees a bit lumpier but he gags on the pieces and is refusing to eat them. He will eat small pieces of toast and pieces of cheese and biscuits - what type of other finger foods can I introduce him to - should I persevere with the lumpier foods or leave these out altogether and just give him the finger foods?

Any help or advice would be great

persevere, maybe continue with the pureed version for the bulk of the meal and few teasppons to dive in with when he's happy eating the puree.

come the winter stews etc will be great for him so i owuldnt want to lose the momentum of him eating pureed stuff.

How old are babies normally whan they start to eat lumpier foods - he only has 2 teeth - does this have anything to do with it?

I DONT THINK SO, some would say the chewing action helps the teeth break thru - ie the friction on the gums speeds it up.

i htinki changed the consistency around 9 mth and then 12mths.
